
Leh Ladakh and Kashmir Tour
Duraton : 11 Nights / 12 DaysArrival Leh in the morning Our representative will meet, greet, assist and transfer you to Hotel in Leh. Full day of rest for acclimatization to the high altitude of Leh (11,500 ft./ 35 00 mtrs). Arrive hotel in Leh for dinner and overnight .
After breakfast visit Shey Palace & Stok Palace Museum. Post lunch at the hotel, visit Shanti Stupa, Sankar Gompa & Leh Palace and then explore the local markets. Arrive hotel in Leh for dinner and overnight .
Early departure for Pangong Lake (approx. 145 Kms, located on the Indo China Border), via Chang-la pass (alt: 17370 ft.). After full day of sightseeing around the Lake check-in at fixed tented camp near the lake at Spangmik or drive back for 30 Kms to Tangtse and check into Hotel / Guest House for dinner and overnight stay.
After breakfast, leave Pangong / Tangtse and retrace the Leh route across Chang-la. Upon reaching Karu, drive across the Indus and visit the famous Hemis Monastery, biggest monastery of Ladakh. Later drive on to Leh, enroute visiting the picturesque Thiksey monastery. Arrive hotel in Leh for dinner and overnight .
After breakfast leave for Nubra Valley, driving across Khardong-la (alt: 18,380 ft.). After descending from the pass, drive on for sightseeing of Sumoor area and Samstaling Gompa. Later check into a fixed camp in the same area or drive across to Deskit / Hundar for dinner and overnight in a fixed camp or hotel.
In the morning visit / explore Deskit , Hundar and the Sand Dunes where you can enjoy a short camel safari using the double-humped Bactrian camel found here (optional on direct payment). Later drive back to Leh reaching in the late afternoon / evening. Arrive hotel in Leh for dinner and overnight.
After leisurely breakfast, leave for Alchi / Uleytokpo on the first leg of the journey to Kargil and Srinagar. On the way visit Hall of Fame, Gurudwara Pathar Sahib, Magnetic Point, Sangam (confluence of Indus & Zanskar Rivers) and then the 11th century Alchi Choskor, oldest surviving monastic complex famous for its wall frescoes and architecture - a UNESCO listed heritage site. Overnight in fixed camp / resort at Uleytokpo for dinner and overnight stay.
After breakfast leave for Kargil. On the way you can visit the dramatically located Lamayuru monastery and the adjoining “Moonland” hills. Later drive towards Kargil enroute viewing the 9-Mtrs. tall rock sculpture of the Maitreya Buddha at Mulbekh (7th –8th century AD). Arrive hotel in Kargil for dinner and overnight .
Early departure for Srinagar driving through Drass (famous as the second coldest inhabited place in the world) and crossing the Zoji-la Pass (11,500-ft. / 3,505 m) to reach Sonamarg from where it’s a smooth 2-hour drive to Srinagar through the beautiful Kashmir countryside. Arrive hotel in Srinagar for dinner and overnight .
Full day excursion to Gulmarg the Meadow of Flowers. One of the most silent vallies in Kashmir. Very popular for its snow fall in the winter and a popular skiing destination. It is a smooth drive till Tangmarg 15 km short of Gulmarg when the Zig Zag route starts through the forest of pine trees. One of the most spectacular and pollution free drives. Gulmarg has one of the finest high altitude Golf courses of the world. Gulmarg is incomplete without a horse ride and newly introduced Gandola lift which takes you 5 km to Kong Dori & Affarvat hills. After a day’s excursion around Gulmarg drive back to Srinagar. Stay overnight.
After breakfast visit Pahalgam. One of the most panoramic meadows of Kashmir blessed with the enchanting Lidder River crossing through the meadow. It is a 3 hours spectacular drive from PahalgamSrinagar to Pahalgam crossing though the Saffron fields at Pampore. Pampore is the only place blessed with the cultivation of Saffron in whole India. Also famous for the romantic episode of most popular king Baadshah & Habakhatoon a local farmers daughter. Further, ahead are Avantipura ruins the former capital of Kashmir under king Avantipuram. It is a beautiful drive through villages & farm land and will pass along the river Jehlum at certain points till you reach Martand natural springs. The crystal clear water of these springs has medicinal properties and home to only Sun temple on the top of hill in the valley. Stay overnight.
Leave on time for your onward journey back home
